User Experience Practitioner

The User Experience Practitioner will be responsible for designing user-centered interfaces for our client’s technology applications and products.. You will collaborate with project managers, information architects, usability engineers, and front-end developers to refine and improve the user experience on our client’s technology applications and products.

Responsibilities:

• Create annotated wireframes, use cases, scenarios, paper and interactive prototypes, storyboards, and design specifications for new features on our web properties.
• Consistently deliver strong creative website and mobile concepts that meet our company goals.
• Collaborate with content strategists, front-end developers, programmers, information architects, and project managers to develop site improvements and additions based on business objectives, usability studies, metrics, and real-time.
• Extend and contribute corporate branding styles to new website designs, style guides and graphics.
• Work in multiple development environments.
• Helps participate in functional and business requirements, online help, feature lists, error messaging, and design guidelines.
• Advocates usability best practices for customer facing applications.
• Track issues and bugs with a variety of software programs.
• Stay up to date in current and emerging web technologies, industry standards, developing trends, and web design best practices, and apply them to our web properties.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in user-centered design and visual design is required. Ecommerce experience is highly desired.
• Advanced experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Visio, OmniGraffle, Flash (with ActionScript), and Web 2.0 concepts and methods are essential.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery and Prototype desired.
• Experience with user interfaces, image optimization, scripting, web accessibility standards, design & development standards, and cross-platform issues.
• Degree in HCI (Human Computer-Interaction), graphic/visual design, or related field or equivalent work a plus, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of W3C recommendations, accessibility issues, and best practices.
• Master of web standards, design principles, and scalable dynamic web user interfaces.
• Ability to create elegant user-centered visual designs using Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
• Ability to crate highly detailed wireframes using Visio, OmniGraffle, or equivalent program.
• Enjoy working on multiple projects and thrive on the challenges associated with working with both technical and business owners while being an advocate for the end-user.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic, and truly passionate for user-centered design and user experience.
• Proven creative thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to write clear, concise, detailed requirements.
• Strong project and time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
