Graphic Designer

The ideal candidate will have creative flair and the willingness to expand their skill base to include design for static, dynamic and interactive websites and other projects. Qualified candidates have 2 years professional experience as well as formal design training with strong visual design, interaction design and typographical skills. An in-depth understanding of HTML and the capabilities of Web browsers is essential, and knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is required. Flash experience is a plus.

While this is initially a junior position there are excellent career progression opportunities to the candidate that shows initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate concepts and ideas into viable website design concepts
  • Create web site navigation, look-and-feel based on internal direction
  • Design and develop websites from start to finish
  • Optimize and create graphics for the web
  • Editing, updating and expanding existing client websites
  • Ability to work in a challenging and fast-pasted environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Meet all assigned deadlines
  • Confidence to approach work seriously while maintaining an open-minded approach to collaboration and constructive criticism
  • Understanding of basic marketing principles a plus

Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Design, Interactive Media, Art or related field (or other formal training)
  • 2 years professional studio/agency experience
  • Competent in Photoshop and Illustrator, Dreamweaver
  • Have a creative eye and excellent design skills
  • Have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS and website design best practices.
  • Be passionate about design and have an interest in emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of Flash/Video/3D a plus
